Hospital-based rehabilitation
The St.Gallen Rehabilitation Center opened its doors to patients at the beginning of February. The immediate proximity to the St.Gallen Cantonal Hospital and the Geriatric Clinic allows a quick start to rehabilitation and close cooperation between the acute hospital and rehabilitation clinic.
Since February 1, the Rehazentrum St.Gallen has been offering various outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation options: neurological rehab, musculoskeletal rehab, internal oncology rehab and geriatric rehab. The inpatient rehab is spread over 30 beds. From May 1, monitoring rehabilitation will be added and the number of beds will increase to 42. The start has been a success, the processes were well prepared and the teams have quickly come together. The cooperation with Kantonsspital St.Gallen, Geriatrische Klinik AG and Wohnen am Singenberg is working well. Patients particularly appreciate the proximity to the hospital, as rehabilitation specialists and acute hospital specialists work here in close proximity and can therefore coordinate their work very well.
The St.Gallen Rehabilitation Center is well integrated into the campus; together with the St.Gallen Cantonal Hospital, Wohnen am Singenberg and Geriatrische Klinik , it forms a forward-looking ensemble. All units are connected underground in a network of 7 km of corridors. This enables rapid supply. Behind the building is the newly created therapy garden. All units in the garden are modeled on Stadt St.Gallen : red soil, meadow, steps, cobblestones, etc.
