The Oberwaid Clinic now also has musculoskeletal rehabilitation on the hospital list
The Oberwaid Clinic in St. Gallen is now also listed on the hospital lists of the cantons of St. Gallen, Appenzell Ausserrhoden and Appenzell Innerrhoden with a service mandate for musculoskeletal rehabilitation. From now on, patients of all insurance classes from all over Switzerland can take advantage of musculoskeletal rehabilitation at the Oberwaid. In this way, we are now making an important contribution to musculoskeletal rehabilitation care in the region.
"With this milestone decision, our many years of expertise, our quality record and the relevance of the rehabilitative services offered by the Oberwaid Clinic have finally received the recognition they deserve. We are extremely pleased that our investments in the future of healthcare in the region have paid off and that our services are now open to all patients," says Dr. Doris Straus, CEO & Clinic Director.
Musculoskeletal rehabilitation at Oberwaid helps patients to regain their independence after an operation, accident or other musculoskeletal disorders. The post-operative rehabilitation services are primarily aimed at patients who have undergone surgery on the knee, hip, shoulder and spine. Chronic pain patients also receive the best possible care from the Oberwaid's health specialists.
Dr. med. Matthias Zehringer, Head of Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation, sees a great need for rehabilitation of the musculoskeletal system: "After an accident, spinal or joint surgery, the aim is to quickly become independent and mobile again. This is all the more important if, as is so often the case in old age, you live alone. Life expectancy increases, but the demands on quality of life remain the same. This is where rehabilitation at the Oberwaid can make a valuable contribution." Patients of all insurance classes from all over Switzerland can now take advantage of musculoskeletal rehabilitation at the Oberwaid.
